“With red stockings and a pale face you and the night come in”
— Octavio Paz, from “Interior” in “The Poems Of Octavio Paz″, translated by Eliot Weinberger
I don’t resist the seductions of darkness.
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
“With red stockings and a pale face you and the night come in”
— Octavio Paz, from “Interior” in “The Poems Of Octavio Paz″, translated by Eliot Weinberger
